For the past 12 months it has been an immense pleasure to raise awareness and funds for our nominated charity of the year, Open Road. Through our teams’ efforts, we are proud to announce we have raised an incredible £3,900!

The campaign of collaboration and support for Open Road has been spearheaded by our Charity Relationship Manager, Julie Arthur. Julie has overseen Open Road’s time as our nominated charity of the year, ensuring the deserving organisation got the maximum exposure and support. She was also behind the planning of several fundraising events and initiatives including a Christmas Raffle at the beautiful Braxted Park at the end of last year and our inaugural Annual Charity Quiz Night which was a tremendous success.

Becoming our Charity of the Year doesn’t just include the fantastic fundraising efforts of the Essex business community. It also provides opportunities to incredible charities like Open Road to have a platform to spread their message and raise their profile to businesses in our network. Whether this be through attending our flagship Festival of Business as the official nominated charity or collaborating on webinars.

It’s been a privilege to raise awareness of the brilliant work Open Road carries out across Essex, supporting individuals affected by addiction, promoting recovery, and helping them rebuild their lives. It was particularly pertinent to partner with Open Road as they are a charity with a unique emphasis on business support, information from which was shared with our members during a dedicated webinar.

Denise Rossiter, CEO of the Essex Chambers of Commerce, spoke about the partnership saying:

“I am immensely proud of the Chambers dedication and support shown to Open Road throughout their time as our nominate charity of the year. To raise £3,900 for such a worthwhile charity is an incredible achievement and will do so much to help those struggling with addiction in the county.

“All though they won’t be our Nominated Charity of the Year for 2026/2027, we’re still committed to supporting and nurturing our relationship with Open Road.”

Anna Trudgian, Operations Manager at Open Road, said:

“We were delighted to be chosen and supported by the Essex Chambers as their nominated charity of the year.

“It means a lot to be recognised for the work we do in the county, and we are so grateful for the increased profile we’ve gained within the local business community. This relationship has given us an ideal opportunity to engage with businesses and raise awareness of the help available through our services.”
