Export Procedures & Documentation - This course provides an exploration into the procedures and documentation you will need to be aware of if your business is to make a success of Exporting.

We will help you identify which documents to raise, which modes of transport to use, and where to go for advice and assistance. The spotlight will be shone on the many varied documents required in International Trade, highlighting which ones are important, and why.

We will also cover why it is important that you retain a clear audit trail, together with specific documentary evidence of proof of export, in order to meet Export Compliance.

Virtual Incoterms - Don’t know your DAP from your DAT, get your FOB confused with your FCA? This course will guide you through each of the International Commercial Terms known as ‘Incoterms’, explaining the costs and risks involved to both the Buyer and Seller.

We will identify the transfer of risk points for each of the 11 Incoterms, and clarify the issue of Insurance and explore the potential problems of EXW and DDP, and the challenges of having multiple transactions but one international movement of goods.

Import Procedures & Documentation - Whether you import components for manufacture, or you purchase finished products to onward sell, or offer a repair or upgrade service, join us to understand the rules and intricacies of goods crossing borders.  We’ll cover when Import Duties and Taxes are applicable and look at ways to reduce or even abolish these charges.

Customs Special Procedures focusing on IP & OP - Processing can be anything from repacking or sorting goods, to the most complicated manufacturing. This course will look at the roles of processing to identify if you could trade more competitively. You will also learn how to complete the Application Forms for Customs Special Procedures, including the new PFS1 form. 

Inward Processing (IP) - you could benefit from duty relief on imports of goods to be processed
and re-exported.

Outward Processing (OP) - we will explain how to claim relief from customs duty on goods that
have been exported for process.

Rules of Origin - Do you truly know the origin of your goods? Have you had goods detained at Customs because the incorrect origin has been declared? The need to understand the Rules of Origin is essential to any company who deals with exporting or importing.

You will learn how to identify the origin of your own goods, how the country in which the goods are made can affect the duty rates and VAT charges depending on the relevant Free Trade Agreement and which countries have these in place. We also cover how to complete the various Origin and Preference documents required.

Tariff Classification Masterclass - The knowledge on how to correctly classify your goods is essential, whether it is for import or export.

This Masterclass will cover the Harmonised System, the Combined Nomenclature and TARIC measures, together with their individual cycles of change.Our Tariff Classification Strategy will cover the Harmonised System and the new UK Global Tariff, together with their individual cycles of change.  You will learn how to build the code, and appreciate why you and your supplier/customer in a different country may have a different commodity code.

Export Licence Controls - Export Licence Compliance is essential to all exporters. Companies large and small must equally comply with our Licensing rules. 

We will cover complexity of Export Licence Controls, explaining the role of Export Control Joint Unit (ECJU) and their on-line export control portal (SPIRE, and its’ replacement LITE).  

Whether you are exporting goods designed for Military use or Dual-use items, or if you are not sure, we will explain the rating process and the importance of End-User Undertakings.  Export Licence rules do not only cover the physical movement of goods, but also cover certain software, and technology (information).
