Guest Speaker: Councillor Peter Harris – Essex County Council

Councillor Peter Harris is Leader of Essex County Council, elected in May 2026. He brings extensive experience across business, local government and community leadership, beginning his career as a motor industry apprentice before progressing into management and business ownership.

His public and community roles have included past President of Barking & Dagenham Chamber of Commerce, District Councillor and Chairman of Tendring District Council, alongside championing small businesses, skills and local communities.

As Leader of Essex County Council, his priorities include improving public services, supporting businesses, developing skills and attracting investment to drive economic growth across Essex.
