Employers Education Survey Results

To help inform our understanding of sectors, we reached out to local businesses to understand the challenges and barriers facing them. The sector results for education are below.

We will conduct a further survey soon so will publish results here.

When asked what skills would help to improve the workforce the responses were varied but a lot of responses said experience was needed and that having soft people skills was important, also for education settings the pastoral side of things is just as important.

When asked why the business didn’t offer apprenticeships the main reason was that they needed people who were already qualified and they couldn’t facilitate an apprenticeship.

When asked what type of work placement would add value to the business, the main answer was administration.

We asked what networks people were involved in and of those that replies the answers were teaching consortium, the local authority and other local networks such as EWPN and AELP.
