Joanne Giles, the Executive Director of the Essex Local Skills Improvement Plan, was delighted to attend the latest Basildon Business Leaders Breakfast Briefing at the New Holland Showroom on Cranes Farm Road. The event was a great opportunity to connect with buyers from two prestigious businesses in the region, CNH and Leonardo.
As well as a factory tour of the impressive operation of the CNH facility the event was also a chance to understand what the two large scale organisations look for when building their supply chains.
During the morning session Joanne was also able to catch up with members of the CNH team, Sean Lennon, Vice President of Sales Europe, and Ed Kerley, HR Director UK, Ireland & Nordics. Their discussion centred around the evolving skills landscape within the Ag Tech sector. Together, they explored the critical role of shaping systems that support talent development and the importance of nurturing an ecosystem
where skills can thrive.
“As the Ag Tech industry continues to evolve, collaboration of this kind is vital to ensure our workforce is prepared for the challenges ahead. Building strong partnerships is a key element in shaping a responsive and resilient skills system, especially as we move toward Devolution within our county.”
