Denise Rossiter is Chief Executive Officer of Essex Chambers of Commerce, one of 51 Accredited Chambers in the British Chambers of Commerce (BCC) national network. She has been with the organisation since 2004 and has served as CEO since 2010, giving her more than two decades of experience championing businesses across Essex.
Denise began her career as a qualified Credit Manager, working across the wine trade, pharmaceutical industry and financial services, before running her own business networking company. She joined Essex Chambers as Operations Manager, where she led the operational control of the Chamber’s infrastructure, staffing and income-generating services including Membership, Events & Training, and International Trade. This broad commercial background, combined with hands-on leadership in a private company environment, has given her direct experience in running and growing a business.
As CEO, Denise has developed a deep understanding of the needs of both large and small businesses across a wide range of sectors. Under her leadership, the Chambers has transformed the way it supports its members, strengthened its external reputation, and significantly expanded its influence with policymakers. During her tenure, the Chambers has seen significant membership growth, reinforcing its role as the leading voice of business in the county.
A passionate advocate for Essex, Denise is driven by a vision to ensure local businesses can connect, learn and grow. She has led the development of impactful programmes and partnerships and is committed to high standards of customer service and clear communication.
Denise plays a prominent leadership role across the county, chairing several influential groups where she contributes her experience and insight to support the county’s growth strategy.
Well known for her convening power, Denise is committed to strengthening engagement between business and government at local and national levels. She has facilitated dialogue with MPs and ministers on major issues such as the Lower Thames Crossing, Devolution in Essex, and wider economic policy – ensuring that the voice of Essex business is heard where it matters most.
