Mental Health Awareness Training

DP World London Gateway, 1, London Gateway, Stanford-Le-Hope, Essex SS17 9DY

Tuesday 24th November 2020
8:30am - 1:00pm

Did you know that approximately 1 in 4 people in the UK will experience a mental health problem each year? In England, 1 in 6 people report experiencing a common mental health problem such as anxiety and depression in any given week. Would you know how to recognise the warning signs and what you can do to support anyone in that position?

To help employers navigate this often complex condition Essex Chambers are partnering with Essex County Council, Provide, and Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) England to provide Mental Health First Aid Training for you and your employees.

MHFA England is the only licenced training provider to deliver Mental Health First Aid training in England. Their training has shown that increasing mental health literacy helps to break down stigma and discrimination in this area leading to improved outcomes for recovery.

The course will cover:

  • Introduction to mental health and mental health issues

  • Factors affecting mental health

  • Stigma and its impact on recovery

  • Understand the skills to begin a conversation about their mental health

  • Looking after your own mental health
