The region between London and Cambridge - the UK's Innovation Corridor is rapidly becoming renowned as a world class region for life sciences and tech. At the heart of the corridor lies the Harlow Enterprise Zone which is home to world leading companies such as Arrow and Raytheon whilst Public Health England is in the process of starting the relocation of their operations from Wiltshire and London to Harlow.
To ensure that these ventures, and others such as Microsoft in London and Astra Zeneca in Cambridge, continue to be a success requires first class infrastructure, qualified staff, and suitable housing provision that can meet all needs, especially in terms of affordability.
There are ambitious plans with the local authorities’ local plans to develop major areas of housing along and around the Corridor, as well as in other parts of Essex, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire, but will we have the skills available to be able to deliver them within in the timescale required to support the projected economic growth.
Essex Chambers of Commerce in conjunction with the London Stansted Cambridge Consortium invite you to join them to discuss these challenges and hear about some innovative solutions to house building which could help deliver the required affordable housing and associated infrastructure along with developing the skills necessary for the construction and other sectors.
