Over the past 12 months, the Essex Chambers of Commerce has been proud to fundraise for our nominated charity of the year Mid & North East Essex Mind. As our time with this wonderful charity comes to an end we are thrilled to announce we have raised a staggering £5,736!
This incredible total was achieved by the Essex Chambers team banding together to show our support for the vital work the charity provides in the north of the county. By making MNEE Mind the sole focus charity for our fundraising efforts, not only have we provided financial support for their vital services but have also spread awareness of how they can help those battling with their mental health.
In the last year we have featured Mid & North East Essex Mind as our nominated Festival of Business charity, held a Christmas Raffle with amazing prizes and donated a percentage of ticket sales from selected networking events all in a bid to raise as much money as possible for the charity.
However, by far our biggest fundraising effort was a daring sponsored sky dive, bravely faced by our CEO, Denise Rossiter, Operations Director, Lisa Collins, and Events Co-Ordinator, Julie Arthur. Taking place during Mental Health Awareness Week, the trio overcame immense personal fears to courageously take on the terrifying skydive. The support the ladies received from the Essex business community was incredible.
We were delighted to present Sarah Wilson, Fundraising Manager, and Daisy Taylor, Community & Events Fundraiser, at MNEE Mind with a cheque for the total amount at our Colchester offices. It means so much to the whole Chambers team that this money will be funding important services to help the community.
“It has been an honour to be chosen as the Charity of the Year for Essex Chambers. We are truly grateful for their generosity and commitment, which has resulted in a remarkable contribution.
“A big part of our corporate partnership work is to drive awareness, so people know we’re here when they need us. By working with Essex Chambers, we have spread the word of our support and services through their business network.”
“I am immensely proud of the Chambers dedication and support shown to Mid & North East Essex Mind throughout their time as our nominate charity of the year. To raise over £5,000 for such a worthwhile charity is an incredible achievement and will do so much to help those struggling with their mental health.
“On a personal note, whilst I will never take to the air and dare to brave a sky dive again. The fact I could take on such a gargantuan challenge whilst raising money and spreading awareness of the vital work this charity does in their region; is an achievement I will treasure for many years to come.”
