Essex Highways are pleased to have launched the Army and Navy Sustainable Transport Package public consultation. Having explored a variety of potential junction and sustainable transport improvements, they are pleased to be able to share the options that are being considered.
Essex Highways are encouraging you and your organisation to have your say and help them to decide the final package of improvement measures to be taken forward. If possible, they would also appreciate your support in sharing information about the consultation with your members/residents/service users/partner organisations.
Army and Navy Sustainable Transport Package
The Army and Navy Sustainable Transport Package is an unmissable opportunity to re-design the Army and Navy junction – a crucial gateway to Chelmsford – while also providing better options for people to travel and encouraging safer, greener, and healthier ways of getting around the city. By delivering a comprehensive package of measures that encourage increased walking, cycling and Park and Ride travel, alongside an improved Army and Navy junction, Essex Highways can provide a long-term and sustainable solution, improving journeys for everyone.
The eight-week public consultation is open until Sunday, 3rd October. Essex Highways has not made any final decisions, and the consultation is a chance for you to help them to choose a preferred junction option and refine their final proposals.
The best way to find out more about the proposals is by visiting the virtual exhibition, which is available 24/7 throughout the consultation period via the website, so you can visit at a time to best suit you.
In addition, Essex Highways have produced a public consultation brochure and easy read consultation brochure, which can be found on their website and via the virtual exhibition. Printed copies of both brochures are available in all Chelmsford libraries, at County Hall and the Civic Centre.
To enable you to find out more about the proposals and ask any questions, Essex Highways are hosting a series of online and face-to-face consultation events during the consultation period. These include live web chat sessions within the virtual exhibition space, video call-style live webcasts via Microsoft Teams and two drop-in face-to-face events in Chelmsford High Street. Dates and further details are available on our website.
