It was a bright and early start as we welcomed attendees to enjoy a wonderful breakfast networking event at the newly refurbished Delta Hotel Colchester.
Guests were treated to a delicious breakfast spread of fresh pastries, eggs benedict, and breakfast burritos all in the sophisticated surroundings of the Balkern Suite function room.
After a warm welcome from Essex Chambers CEO, Denise Rossiter, attendees listened to an informative update on the future for Colchester. We were delighted to be joined that morning by Pamela Donnelly, CEO of Colchester City Council.
There is currently generational change happening not just in Colchester but in the entire county. With a Mayoral candidate soon to be elected, Devolution, and Local Government Reform, the entire governing structure of Essex will be transformed.
With these huge changes being implemented in the next few years, Pamela emphasised the importance of events like this one to be able to hear directly from the local business community. Colchester City Council is committed to consulting with a wide range of businesses on the reform.
Colchester is a relatively new but modern city. As well as explaining the potential upcoming changes she also updated everyone on the exciting improvements and developments transforming the area.
The insightful presentation was followed by a lively Q&A discussion where attendees had the opportunity to put their concerns and thoughts directly to the Council Leader.
The morning was not only a great opportunity for guests to gain a better understanding of the future of Colchester City, but also to connect with other local businesses. No matter what changes come into effect, the only way the local economy will stay strong is by building a solid network. At Essex Chambers we are committed to nurturing these relationships.
