September 28, 2018

Businesses wanting to showcase their work and connect with potential clients and customers are invited to attend the Basildon Business Expo when it returns in November.

Basildon Council has once again teamed up with the Essex Chambers of Commerce to organise the Expo which is taking place between 10am and 3pm on Thursday 22 November.

Following the success of the 2017 Basildon Business Expo, the event has a new venue for 2018 to allow for more exhibitors. There will be in excess of 50 exhibitors that will attend the event at the Holiday Inn, Basildon. Attending delegates will be able to access a wide range of available support and secure new business, make new connections or build on existing business relationships with the available networking opportunities.

Following the exhibition, from 3.30pm to 5pm, a business reception will take place. Visitors will be given the chance to join fellow delegates for an afternoon tea courtesy of Tiptree Jam manufacturers Wilkin & Sons.

The business reception which will include a presentation from Highways England on the proposed Third Lower Thames Crossing. Both the exhibition and reception are free for visitors to attend.

Speaking about the event Denise Rossiter, Chief Executive of Essex Chambers of Commerce, said: “I was delighted to be asked by Basildon Council to work with them to deliver Basildon Business Expo 2018. The inaugural event attracted a lot of interest from exhibitors and visitors alike and we received some really positive feedback afterwards. We expect stalls to sell quickly so urge anyone interested to get in touch with us as soon as possible”

Cllr Andrew Schrader, Basildon Council’s Chairman of the Economic Development and Growth Committee, added: “Over the last few months I have been meeting with representatives of businesses in the borough of all sizes and hearing about their successes and challenges. The Basildon Business Expo is the largest event of its kind in the borough and a chance for us all to have that conversation with each other – as well as the opportunity to showcase what our businesses do and offer.

“I know that transport links are a hot topic so I’m really looking forward to the business reception that will enable businesses to engage with an influential panel on a range of key business issues that affects Basildon and the south Essex economy – including the proposals for the Lower Thames Crossing.”
