There is road marking renewal work being carried out along the A12 between junctions 19 and 28 between Chelmsford and Colchester on behalf of Highways England. This scheme forms part of a wider package of works to deliver essential maintenance and improvements on A12, A11, A14 and A120 in Essex and Suffolk.
This work involves the renewal of road markings and replacement of reflective road studs to maintain road user safety along the A12.
Work is expected to begin during the week commencing 9 April and planned to be finished by 12 May.
The work will be carried out overnight between Monday and Friday 8pm – 6am.
To complete this work safely and minimise disruption to the travelling public, the A12 north and south carriageways will be fully closed. Clearly signed diversion routes will be in place. The carriageway will be closed on weeknights between 8pm and 6am from Monday 9 April to Friday 11 May (see programme below):
