The Basildon tractor plant produces tractors for export all around the world utilising World Class Manufacturing methodologies. Join us to hear from project manager Colin Larkin and for an inside look at how this successful company produces their premium range tractors on our plant tour.

Colin Larkin has 35 years of manufacturing experience from when he joined the Tractor Plant in 1985 as a line operator and he has steadily worked his way through the organisation to become the first plant manager that started at the lowest possible level. Along the way he went back to college to learn mechanical engineering and to Open University studying business.  He is also a certified Six Sigma black belt. He was responsible for the Basildon plant from 2010 to 2015 which included the daily production of tractors utilising 600 people covering the following departments Continuous Improvement Logistics, Quality Control, Material Planning, Expediting, H&S, New Model launches, Maintenance, Manufacturing & Plant engineering. He then spent two years overseas managing a plant producing trucks and buses for CNH. For the last two years Colin has had a European role based at the tractor plant managing the investments for the 30 other plants in the region.
