Construct Essex

Lord Ashcroft Building, Anglia Ruskin University, Bishop Hall Lane, Chelmsford Essex CM1 1SQ

Thursday 23rd May 2019
3:00pm - 7:00pm

Join us for the launch of our first ‘Construct Essex’ networking event.

Essex is one of the most economically vibrant counties in the UK with ambitious plans to grow the county’s economy further. Along the Thames Estuary there are major development schemes proposed in Southend and Thurrock, major housing projects underway and planned for Chelmsford and North Essex and along the M11 corridor there is continuing growth in Harlow and around Stansted, all of which provide potential opportunities for the construction industry and related sectors.

To help businesses take advantage of possible opportunities from these projects we are launching ‘Construct Essex’. Quarterly meetings will provide businesses with a chance to learn direct from the developers about the exciting developments being proposed around the county as well as having the opportunity to network with other business people from across Essex.

At our inaugural meeting we are delighted to be showcasing Manchester Airports Group’s plans for their new Stansted arrivals building and hear both from them and their chosen contractor, Mace Group.

The transformation of London Stansted is one of the largest airport projects currently underway in the UK. Plans include a new arrivals terminal which is due to open in 2020 and the reconfiguration of the existing terminal into a departures-only facility. Mace was proud to be appointed by the Manchester Airport Group (MAG) to deliver this new arrivals terminal. Plans also feature a revamped retail and restaurant offer, as well as new car parks and airfield infrastructure. This marks a significant investment in the airport that will unlock future growth and prosperity for both London and the wider region.

Mace are delighted to be working with the Stansted team and are keen to build good relationships with the local supply chain. As with all of their projects, they aim to ensure that their work at Stansted delivers value into the community and creates local jobs and economic growth.
