Becoming an Authorised Economic Operator – Afternoon Course

CO1 1WD
15th October 2012, 13.30 - 16.00

Venue details:
Essex Chambers of Commerce
8/9 St Peters Court
Colchester
CO1 1WD

Course Description
Authorised Economic Operator status has been introduced to encourage all parties that have an input into the international supply chain to achieve a certificated standard that will become an internationally recognised quality mark.  This "kite mark" will confirm that the company has met specific high standards in supply chain security, financial stability and compliance with customs procedures.  This quality mark will then become a marketing tool similar to ISO accreditation.

There are suggestions that those organisations achieving this standard will benefit economically from access to "fast track" international trade procedures. It is possible that many companies will be obliged to achieve AEO status by other members of the supply chain such as customers and suppliers.

All companies involved in international trade are going to have to make a decision as whether to apply. Compliance may involve a rigorous and thorough examination of company procedures and the implementation of new compliance measures.

Duration:
Half Day

Who Should Attend?
All decision makers and personnel involved with international trade from manufacturers, distributors, exporters, importers, carriers, forwarders, agents and warehouse operators.
